Artist Statement
My work explores abstracted and exaggerated anatomical forms. Working across ceramics, drawing, and painting, I distort faces and body structures to move away from realistic representation and focus on form and presence. As I work, features are pushed, stretched, or broken down, allowing the work to sit between recognition and abstraction.
Biography
Austyn is an award-winning Artist and Marine Corps Veteran originally from California, currently residing in Wichita Falls, TX. Formally trained at The Digital animation and Visual Effects school in Orlando, FL, he received his Bachelor of Science in Visual Effect Production in 2021. He is a highly skilled 3D modeler with experience in creating high-poly hero assets for film and marketing, as well as low-poly efficient models for games and VR. He also has experience in graphic design, motion graphics, creation of print media, as well as digital media, video editing and concept art.
He also practices in traditional mediums not limited to but including drawing, painting, as well as ceramics/pottery.
